Having a problem that is difficult to fix with your saxophone playing?
Reading about how to improve sometimes helps, sometimes doesn’t. And the internet is full of people who may or may not know what they’re talking about.
Seeing and hearing what you’re doing can help get to the root of the problem quickly.
I’m a person, not a corporation.
If you buy a book, you’ll probably learn some things (some are very good). But you will not get any feedback. And you probably won’t be able to ask the author questions. You can ask me questions and get personal feedback.
Development as a teacher
Have helped students with math since 2002. I taught a college physics course. If you want to check out what I have done and am doing with that, you can go to nealien.com . There are many great saxophone players in the world, but not all of them focus on teaching. I have spent a lot of time working on teaching. Have paid a lot of attention to detail and have developed my ear.
I love teaching and helping people. Great to watch the progress of my students.
Also love learning new things and am very familiar with the beginning stages of learning as well as the potential for frustration. In learning different things, I often apply ideas and technique to learning saxophone for myself and my students. Two areas where I am relatively a beginner but have progressed fairly rapidly are drawing and Chinese.
Teaching online
I have taught online for years on Sax Station. Some students do not have a good teacher available locally. It can take a lot of time to drive to lessons.
Is it worth it to take lessons?
For me personally, lessons have dramatically changed how I play for the better. A teacher with more experience can often hear things you do not. And it’s easy to develop bad habits, also easy to develop good habits. Getting help in figuring out how to do that can save you a lot of headaches.
Here are some testimonials from my online students.

Or let me know if you want to take longer lessons.
Bonus: Printable sax fingering chart
