How to Play Thrift Shop on Saxophone (Alto Sax) + Notes for Tenor below video

by Neal

How to play Thrift Shop, the Macklemore and Ryan Lewis song on sax. The sax line in this tune isn’t too hard to play.

The diagrams in the video are correct, but when I played it in the intro, I accidentally played a C instead of an F at one point. Again, the diagrams are correct.

Let me know if you have any questions.

On tenor:

Bb (then up an octave) Bb Bb
F Eb
Bb
(higher) F C# Bb

If on Bb in the middle of the staff, you will end up at high F, that will make it in the same octave as the alto sax.

You could write it out if you want to, I learned it by ear, you might want to just learn it by memory

After learning the main tune, I figured out the whole song! Also, I found some simpler, alternate notes: low E high E high E B A high E high B high G high E

I’m listening to the how to play the thrift shop song, but I have no video. Is that intentional until I sign up, or do I need to troubleshoot my computer.
I’m new to yiur site and bf signing up and subscribing, I was trying to determine if or how helpful it would be.

Thanks
