I just have one question. Do you have any info on the Dixon Alto Saxophone? I just bought my daughter a second hand one through Long and MaCquarie with a warranty but I can’t find any info about this brand online anywhere. Thank you.

I have a dixon curved soprano that plays really well. Consistent intonation all the way up.

I have played the Dixon alto for many, many years. It is actually a fine copy of the famous Selmer Mark VI, before moving to the Selmer Reference 54, which is Selmer’s own Mark VI copy. It has a bit of the same feel, not least because it is comparably heavy (= much metal) compared to many other saxophones. Its ergonomics are not as perfect, but we are talking about a student model, right. Its build quality is good, compared to other cheap instruments: well-adjusted keys stay well-adjusted for years (though you may need to have your tech actually adjusting the keys well…). But I am talking about a Dixon that was built early 1990s, so if yours is from a rather different period, it might actually be a very different instrument.
