Game of Thrones Theme song for the HBO series based on the book by George R. R. Martin. The music is by Ramin Djawadi. First note on tenor saxophone is A, that means it’s a concert G or an E on alto sax.

Hi Neal I think its faster to play by ear than transpose music , I transposed music for years in bands that I played in and found it a pain being up late at night doing this , Neal the only good thing about this is if you can turn your back on the music and play it with out looking at it and remember it :Warren Frith 20/10/12.

Hey Warren,
A lot of times it can be. But transposition is just adding up numbers, it can be very fast, even faster than learning by ear. Depends on the music and the sax player though. I think they’re both good things to be able to do.

Hi Neal. Just want to find the right reed for now. 1.5 Sounds better for me. I reed a 2. it is hard to get. a good sound. l do not have enough wind control. ill play by reading music trust.
Neal says
Hey Jeff, you probably want to use the 1.5 then. Change it if you feel it’s not giving you enough resistance.

Great video and teaching tool. It would be great if you would do a video for alto.
