Here’s how to play the Pink Panther Theme (first line) by Henry Mancini. Talk a little about how I saw Plas Johnson, the sax man who originally recorded it.
It originally starts on an E# for tenor.
Sometimes it’s played in another key that’s a bit easier, starting on D# for tenor. Made a video for that key also that’s below the first video. In the second, you can see diagrams for all the notes. For the first video, if you’re not sure how to play some of the notes, check out the fingering chart on the downloads page
If you would like the sheet music for the Pink Panther theme and/or cartoon collection, check out the links.

zeca says
Do you have the notes to alto saxophone?
Neal says
Hey Zeca, I have the notes, which I could transpose, that would take a minute. You could do it yourself too. Tenor sax and alto sax are apart by a fourth. So if you see the note D# (Eb) being played for tenor, it would be A# or Bb on alto sax. It’s a concert C# or Db (note that would be played by the piano). Seems like this tune is popular, so maybe I’ll make a video teaching it on alto sax.
Neal says
Here it is on alto, https://saxstation.com/how-to-play-the-pink-panther-theme-on-alto-sax-first-line.htm
Sam says
I know, it’s G#A, B C, G# A B C F E A C E E(flat)—–, D C A G A (x2)
Neal says
The first note is a concert C#, which makes it D# or Eb on tenor. That same note would be A# or Bb on alto. What you wrote is a different key.

Hello Sami,
I added those links a while back. Other websites sell the sheet music for Pink Panther, I don’t sell that directly.
What saxophone are you playing? Alto/tenor?

Paolo Napolione says
For the Pink Panther for Tenor sax some others use the octave key for the D in the first phrase and for the F# and F in the end of the second as well as for the last phrase for the F # and E…you do not use any octave key … Is it because the original from Mancini? Or… Thanks Paolo
NealB says
Hello Paolo. Yes, based on the original.
