The Monterey Jazz Festival is this weekend.

The festival starts Friday night and continues through Sunday at the Monterey Fairgrounds.

This year includes Chick Corea, Dianne Reeves, Roy Hargrove, Chris Potter, Christian McBride, Billy Childs, Kenny Garrett, and more

For the first time, Harry Connick, Jr., Ahmad Jamal, Angelique Kidjo, Les Nubians, Delbert McClinton, Trombone Shorty, Nellie McKay, Indo-Pak Coalition, and Septeto Nacional de Cuba will play at the festival.

The “New Grooves Party” on Friday will feature Brass, Bows & Beats; Nellie McKay; Rudresh Mahanthappa’s Indo-Pak Coalition; and The House Jacks

The blues lineup on Saturday features Delbert McClinton, Naomi Shelton & the Gospel Queens, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue

Tributes include Mark Levine & the Latin Tinge “Music of Moacir Santos”; John Firmin & the Nocturne Band “Tribute to Hank Crawford, David ‘Fathead’ Newman and Leroy ‘Hog’ Cooper”; and Javon Jackson with Les McCann “Swiss Movement Revisited”
