It’s back!  The Monterey Jazz Festival.  The longest running in the world.  And the site of world class music returning every September. At the fair grounds in Monterey.

Been going to this festival every year I can.  For a good part of my life and planning on continuing that tradition.

The great Sonny Rollins on tenor saxophone is returning.  Poncho Sanchez and Terence Blanchard.  Hiromi from Japan on piano and keys.  Dumpstaphunk.  Joshua Redman, Benny Green.  Herbie Hancock will play.  John Santos on percussion.  Joey DeFrancesco on organ.  Bobby Hutcherson.  Greg Fishamn on sax and Judy Garland on piano.  And many more.

Looks like a cool lineup, some names I recognize and have heard play, a few new ones.

Good atmosphere in Monterey for the festival.
