I love the song ‘Round Midnight’ by Thelonious Monk AND I like Bobby McFerrin.  Eric Daniel posted this video the other day.

The song is not an easy one to play.  I worked on it for a while when I was playing with the combo at Santa Clara.  If you’re having trouble with it, don’t worry too much, since Miles Davis needed some time to get comfortable with it too!

The melody itself isn’t ridiculously difficult, but the changes are unique and the timing that Monk uses is interesting (like many of his pieces).
