Hi Neal
I am relatively new to the Sax but im working on my embouchure. I’m finding that when I sometimes change key, its sounds off. I thought that if maintained my embouchure, with a tight seal that I would not have to change my mouth position, is this right?
Mark
Hey Marc,
Every note you play on saxophone has a slightly different resistance. So if you react and change your embouchure for each change in note, it will be ‘right’ for that note, but you’ll be off again. You are correct in thinking you should have a consistent embouchure. No need to jump all over the place with it.

Hey Darrell,
Thanks for the tip, I don’t entirely understand what you’re saying though. Good luck getting some more gigs.
