World Saxophone Quartet!
I really like the groove on this one.
The World Saxophone Quartet is a bad ass saxophone quartet that plays some crazy awesome music. (Some of it is much crazier than this song too).
They formed in 1977.
It started off with Julius Hemphill (alto and soprano saxophone, flute)
Oliver Lake (alto and soprano saxophone)
Hamiet Bluiett (baritone saxophone, alto clarinet)
David Murray (tenor saxophone, bass clarinet).
The lineup (in this video) is:
Hamiett Bluiett, Oliver Lake, James Carter and Greg Osby

yes the world saxophone quartet was a great group of musicians. The tenor is being played by the great James Carter, THe bari I believe is Mr. Bluiett. I can’t be 100 percent sure but the sound is definitely like Bluietts. I don’t recognize the other cats. you can’t mistake Carter’s sound. amazing.
