Martin asked me about working on speed when playing saxophone:
For speed, you just want to start off more slowly and gradually work your way up.
Master something at the slower speed and then you can move on.
What you play will then be solid.
Using a metronome can help with that.

that’s a point ! to go fast we have to slow.
but wath about improvisation ? how develop fast spontanous creation (sorry for english, i hope you enderstand !)

Hey Denis,
To develop speed as an improviser, you have to master your saxophone and the form of the song. When you talk to someone, you don’t carefully write down their words and then say something back, you immediately respond.
So in music you should be able to immediately respond to what you hear too.
It will take time to get to that level though.
