In candyland, you shuffle the cards, take a card and move to the nearest color, occasionally get stuck until you pick up a red card, and continue until someone reaches the end…..
Similar to some other kids games. I suppose kids maybe learn about how to identify colors and count with the game…..
When you’re learning saxophone you had better know how to count and how to play the notes.
In most ways saxophone isn’t like candyland. It’s not a linear process with random cards. The basic mechanics are a requirement to make music, not the goal.
There are many elements to use together when you play saxophone. You need to develop them through focus and persistence.
You’ll have to think about how to play, put emotion and feeling into your horn, and make music with others among other things.
So it’s more challenging and you won’t reach the ‘end’ just by playing.
Saxophone is also something worth learning and worth playing well.
