Sketched out Candy Dulfer the other day based on a photograph I saw of her.
Ezra Brown on Saxophone (drawing)
My drawing of Ezra Brown, haven’t met him yet, but have seen some photos and videos. Seems like he’s doing some cool things with music education as well.
Funky Italian March Led by Bari Sax
Saw a video of a group of musicians marching in Italy.
Drew a scene from it,
Justin Klunk, Klunk Funk, playing saxophone – my drawing

Apple Playing Saxophone
I had drawn a pineapple, strawberry, and watermelon playing saxophone, so here’s an apple!
“How can improve fingering speed (saxophone)?”
How can improve fingering speed?
Challenge,
playing fast and getting all the notes
Books,
Don’t have any at the moment – if you have suggestions that would be great
Playing tenor sax 1 year, practices 2 times at least 4 at most.
-Katelyn
My response:
Much of improving fingering speed has to do with good hand position and keeping your fingers on the keys.
Can take a bit of work to do that.
If you would like my help, I would say either Saxophone Tribe or a skype lesson.
What would you like to do?
“I want to be taught how to blow / breath properly to achieve a consistent / controlled tone… “
I want to be taught how to blow / breath properly to achieve a consistent / controlled tone…
I can play most notes! (does not yet know scales though)
Challenge
Tone! Just making it sound right and consistent…
I have a decent grasp of the fingering and notes already (i play other instruments like the guitar, harp, tin whistle and piano) I learn best by listening and trying… I haven’t got someone to teach me blowing / breathing techniques…
On day 1,
ok! considering I never played a wind instrument before… But my problem is not the fingering or notes, its the tone and breathing….
I would be very interested in buying a lesson for the above problem..
My response
Would you like to do a 20 minute skype lesson with me?
Could probably show you what you want to see.

“How to practice with the Blues Scale?”
How to practice with the Blues Scale?
We have all heard ‘ Just play the Blues Scale ‘ over chord changes or to start improvising, but where do you start ?
Tend to use sheet music rather than books.
Learning, Tenderly, Misty and I’ve got Rhythm ( but not very much ! )
Playing 3 years
-Roger
Do you listen to music where you hear solos that have a sound similar to the blues scale for the notes?
If you have heard something that sounds bluesy, you may be able to use the blues scale. It can be good to start by copying ideas that you hear and like.
“Getting started with it (saxophone)”
I’m not totally new with the saxophone, actually i had my alto for over 10 years now.
But couldn’t get the time to actually learn it due to academic reasons..
So I wanted to ask which course should i sign in. The foundation or the scale.
I’d like to learn some tunes but still working on memorizing the scales
On day 1,
It didn’t sound that horrible but it was still unstable. I was a youth athlete in swimming so long note were realtively easy. Was in the church choir for a long time so friendly with reading music.
Practices, approx 3 times a day, 1~2 hrs per time.

I think Saxophone Foundations would be good for you at this point based on what you told me.

To Neal,
Thank you so much for the email.
Sorry for responding late. This week was kinda hectic.
I’ll stick to your advice and enroll the foundation course soon as i get things sorted out.
Thanks again

“While playing a piece in sax, I observed that sometimes in staff piece, a note like crotchet might be drawn on G (second line of the treble clef), then on top of the note B flat is written.”
These are some of the pictures; looking forward to see your reply.

(the written letters above.)
Those are the chord changes. The harmony that the melody fits into. Played by the bass/piano/guitar/etc.
“Trying to handle the weight of the instrument (saxophone), fingering positions, and embouchure (I keep biting my lower lip)”
How can I play without biting so hard on the mouth piece?
Trying to handle the weight of the instrument, fingering positions, and embouchure (I keep biting my lower lip). (saxophone)
I am a beginner, approximately 1 year.
I already bought Saxophone Foundations, but I will consider anything that can help me improve my playing.
-Alejandro (PR)
First step is probably just to be aware that you’re biting too much.
